Channel Islands Adventure
Fall is here, which means school is back in session and football is in full swing. Before my classes take over my life for the next 10 weeks, my dad made a weekend trip to Santa Barbara.
We took a boat ride out to Santa Cruz Island (part of the Channel Islands). During the one hour beautiful boat ride, we saw a large group of risso dolphins surfing the waves and darting just under the surface near our boat.
When we arrived on the island, we hiked the Cavern Point Loop, which took us straight up to the top of the cliff with magnificent views of Santa Barbara and Anacapa Island in the distance. We walked along the cliffs for 2.5 miles to Potato Harbor and enjoyed lunch while overlooking a neat cove with a family of 8 seals swimming in the crystal clear water. We took the cliff route back and stopped for a few photo ops to do some yoga poses high atop the cliffs.
