Running Warriors
Warrior Dash Finish Line
I just wrapped up my 2nd quarter at UCSB and Trev and I headed to San Diego for a short break. During the break we road-tripped to Lake Elsinore for the 5K Warrior Dash. We traversed over 15-foot-high obstacles, climbed over tires in the junkyard, slid down a fireman's pole, made our way through ropes, and dove down a slip 'n slide that took us into freezing water. Once my pulse returned after diving into the water, we had to use full upper body strength to climb over three floating islands and then it was on to the fire pits. Trev flew over the fire pits and I had to pose midair for my fire jumping photo. We swam through the mud under barbed wires and then climbed a steep muddy hill to the finish line (click here for the photos).
In other news, before spring break, Trev and I went for a run along the beach in Isla Vista and we were pleasantly surprised to come across the IV tide pools during low tide. We saw tons of sea hares, sea anemones, and a few sea stars (see the slideshow of the amazing photos Trev took with our new camera).
